Hi,
Yes you can, SDHC is always better! Best try Class 10! I have Micro SDHC 16GB class 10, no problems with it!

With the technology the screen uses, you must make direct contact with your finger-a stylus will not work.

We would suggest performing a factory data reset on the device: Applications - Settings - Privacy - Factory data reset. You will then be able to setup the phone with your information.

Where can I get the original Samsung gingerbread 2.3.3 software for the Galaxy S?

Need to put my phone back to its original configuration and want to know where I can find the original Android software that came with the phone since upgrading to 2.3.5/2.3.6 gives me the com.android.phone error every so often. This renders the phone dead and then recovers, but it's getting annoying now and I don't think it used to do this on 2.3.3. Many thanks.

We are sorry to hear of the problems you are having with this device. All firmware released via our Samsung KIES software is fully tested and should not cause issues like this. We would recommend you perform a factory data reset on the device, which will hopefully resolve the issue. Please back up all data and do the following: Applications - Settings - Privacy - Factory Data Reset. If this fails one of our service centres will be able to re-flash an older firmware version, just visit them with your receipt and ID. It is not possible to store all this information on the SIM, only contact information and messages can be stored there. You can however back this data up for use in another Android device by doing the following: Contacts - Menu - Import/Export - Import to SD card or SIM card. Messages can be moved by long pressing on the message and selecting "Copy to SIM" .Pictures can then be moved to your SD card by copying them over via the Myfiles folder in the Applications menu.

frozen screen

Hi,

I was updating my Galaxy S GT I9000 with the current firmware and on reboot the screen has frozen to the black background with 'Galaxy S GT-I9000 Samsung' in white text.

I have removed and reinserted the battery but the screen remains the same, I also tried holding the power button and that doesn't work either. Please help!

Hi Mike, when Android Marketplace is opened a pop up should appear asking you to agree to a set of terms and conditions, the Market will then be renamed as Google Play. If this has not happened for you, we would advise contacting Google support who will try to assist you further.

Hi Kirsty, to allow your phone to communicate with your PC you will need to install the correct drivers, please download and install our Samsung KIES software: www.samsung.com/uk/kies

Once installed, open KIES and connect your phone with the screen unlocked, you will now be able to transfer files between your PC and phone.

In order to send and receive multi-media messages, your phone must have the correct settings from your network provider.

Case's designed for the Galaxy SII will not be compatible with the Galaxy S as they are a different size and shape. We would suggest that you look for a similar product which is specifically designed to work with your device.

How do you get the phone to work proper?

I have had my samsung galaxy S on contract for roughly a year now and the system seems to keep crashing in some way, I keep having to uninstall apps to re install them to get them to work again, and this is happening more and more often (sometimes daily), a sign just comes up asking me to force close the app without it opening. Also the internet is hardly ever working even with wi-fi lately. It also switches itself off and refuses to turn on for 5ish minutes. Would be grateful for any advice anyone may have, thank you!
