Question

where can I get replacement screws for the stand?

The stand was removed and placed in storage while the TV was wall mounted. Due to a house move we need to reuse the stand, but the screws have gone missing. Can you buy replacement screws? Are they a standard size?

Hi,

The TV does not have the function to disable adverts on third party apps. We would recommend contacting the app provider.

UPDATING EMAIL MODULE

Every time I log into windows livemail on my ue46f8000 I am invited to install the updated version. Frustrated at not being able to figure out how to do this. Has anyone cracked this?

Why my UE40F8000 TV does not keep the wi-fi connectivity with the router?

Even updated to last firmware, the f8000 still lose the wi-fi connectivity. The router is ok and less than 7m away. Instead the livingroom smart TV works without issues connected on same router. And I notticed that on the BBC iPlayer, the f8000, when I comute to view on HD quality there is no sound on.

Hi Daniel, Yes the HW-H450 is compatible with the F8000. You will be able to connect using Bluetooth technology. Hope this helps.

Why is UE46F8000 making continuous clicking noise and switching off?

Why is my UE46F8000 TV making a clicking noise at rear, switch itself off despite settings off and command message keep appearing on screen despite voice/motion control off?
It is only 6months and had 2 motherboards replaced and power source!

Question

Why does my picture break up when anyone near the tv. I mean in the same room uses a mobile phone.

The picture just becomes a mess of pixels when someone in the room receives a call or a text on their mobile phones. The phone signal is obviously interfering with the tv how do I stop this ?.

Thank you for contacting us. It seems that your mobile signal is interfering with the digital signal on your TV. Have you checked all the connections to the TV and the aerial cable?

When I purchased this TV I was led to believe that there was a 5 year guarantee from Samsung

However when I look at my account I find that the guarantee ran out after a year. I was even told that it was 5 years when I registered can you tell me why this is. I purchased this TV because of the fact I was told I would have a 5 year Manufacturers gaurantee

Can I extend the remote extender cable.

The remote extender (supplied with my 46f8000) which controls external devices using the tv remote. Is it possible to extend the cable for the remote extender (using an appropriate lead) and if so how long can the lead be? also is it possible to change the remote extender for one which has multiple emitters?. The reason for asking is I wish to move all external devices and put them in a cupboard some distance away from the tv.

Hi Andrew, I'm afraid that you cannot buy an extender for the remote control cable. It is advisable to use the cable that has come with the TV as this is made for the specifications of the product. Hope this helps.

Hi, I'm afraid that the games panel is a feature of the 2014 H series TV's. If you would like this feature you could purchase the SEK-2000 Evolution kit, which will upgrade your TV to the 2014 H series. Hope this helps.

Question

My video library doesnt show the cover

I have just upgraded from a UE32C6600 to this UE46F8000.
My old TV used to display the cover of the videos I stored on my DLNA server. The new TV doesnt.
The video and cover image are stored as follow (e.g.):

videodir/avatar.avi
videodir/avatar.jpg

however when browsing the media via the TV DLNA client the videodir and avatar.avi are displayed with a generic icon and the cover image is ignored.

What are the minimum requirement for having an image linked to a video for this model?

I have a Humax Foxsat HD twin recorder how do I connect

I have a Samsung UE46F8000 and a Humax HD PVR Foxsat, what connections do I use please. I currently have the twin satellite cables going into the Humax and a HDMI into the back of the TV, but I still have to use the Humax hand set, I will like to just use the Samsung handset if possible

Hi, You could try using the IR cable that is provided with the TV. The cable needs to be plugged in to the IR out socket on the back of the TV. Once this has been done you need to press: Menu > System > Device Manager > Universal Remote Set Up. Please follow on screen instructions. Hope this helps.

Question

I would like to purchase a 46" F8000 SERIES 8, can the TV be fitted with a smaller stand, I am unable to mount on the wall.

The 46" is perfect for my space, but the stand/table I currently have is smaller due to the space I have below, can the TV be fitted with a smaller stand and not full width, can anybody recommend a pedestal stand that is narrower than the TV, alternatively can another stand be fitted to this model that is not a half moon full width.

Where can we find release notes for the latest firmware updates?

In the downloads section for a given model, the latest firmware .exe file is available, plus a PDF explaining how to install it, but no release notes describing the fixes/enhancements it contains. This would be very helpful to let users know whether a particular issue they have been experiencing has been fixed.

Hi,

I would advise you to update the firmware and reset the Smart Hub on your TV. I have provided the instructions for this below:

Smart Hub reset:

Smart Hub Reset:

Go to:

-Menu
-Smart Features
-Smart Hub Reset

If you have not set your own pin, the default pin is 0000.

Firmware update:

The firmware will not update if you are not on the TV source when attempting an upgrade, if the Smart Hub is open, or if the firmware version is already the latest.

For convenience, we do endeavour to make firmware updates available either By Online or By Channel updating whenever possible. However, due to the nature and size of some recent updates, they may not currently available via By Online updating, and must be applied via USB upgrade instead.

Check for availability of an online update by exiting the Smart Hub, ensuring you are on the TV source (on your remote press SOURCE and select TV) and then enter Menu > Support > Software Upgrade and select By Online.

Alternatively, please check the current firmware or software version of the TV via Menu > Support > Contact Samsung. If the unit is not currently running the latest version available for your model (as listed at the link below) then follow the upgrade process via USB, for which I have provided instructions below:

Please go to:

- Click the .ZIP, .RAR or .EXE icon to download the upgrade file from the link above, under the Downloads > Firmware tab
- When the download commences, click ‘Run’
- The extraction utility will give you the option to ‘Extract’ when the download is complete.

Save this extracted file onto a blank USB pen (memory stick) - ensure that it is the only file on the pen and that it has not even accidentally been duplicated. Also do not alter the file – this includes changing the file name in any way – or the system will not be able to read the upgrade file.

- Press SOURCE on the TV remote and select ‘TV’ from the source list
- Ensure the Smart Hub has been closed before trying the update
- Put the USB pen into the USB slot on the unit
- The unit may take up to a minute to recognise and load the media
- Once the unit has read the USB stick, the upgrade programme will run automatically
- If not, please enter the Menu and select Support > Software Upgrade > By USB
- The unit may reboot (turn itself off and on) as it applies the upgrade
- An onscreen message will advise you when the process is complete, and only then can you safely remove the USB from the device.

NOTE: DO NOT REMOVE THE USB PEN OR TURN THE UNIT OFF WHILE AN UPGRADE IS IN PROGRESS, AS THIS MAY PERMANENTLY DAMAGE THE UNIT AND THIS IS NOT COVERED BY SAMSUNG WARRANTY.
