Hi Ian, this TV does indeed feature built in wireless LAN. To connect to your router simply enter your router details during setup.

Sort of.... it plays basic flash animations, but not video eg. it does not play ITV player or 4OD.

Unfortunately your TV does not support this feature, the SMART evolution kit feature has only been implemented on some of this years E series TV's.

SkyGo is not available for this device, we would suggest that you contact Sky, to see if they plan to release this service to Smart TVs.

Hey Eric, when you set the TV up for the first time you will be able to set up your network connection. This is done in an easy step by step guide and will successfully connect your TV wired or tirelessly to your home router.
When the TV set-up is complete you can then go to your Smart Hub and access the Skype application, again when setting this up you will be prompted to the different features and how to use the application. The Skype app will work with the TV's built in camera.

This would be down to personal choice and the budget you have to spend. The ES8000 is our latest model and features all the latest tech, for that reason it would be the better of the two devices.

Yes, you can connect an external HDD to your USB port to record content. Please ensure your external HDD meets the minimum requirements in order to function on your Samsung TV. I have outlined these for you below.

This should not be a problem for the TV to display 3D content that is rendered correctly. Both players would need to be wearing compatible 3D glasses and they will need to be connected to the TV.

Unfortunately the only apps available on this TV are all listed in Samsung Apps. This is a secure app environment and all apps have to be authorised by Samsung.
