Question

Internet connection problems after last firmware update

Since about 23 Feb, after a prompted firmware update, I have been unable to connect to the internet. Im connected via an ethernet cable and the TV says it can connect to my router, but says it is unable to connect to the internet, contact my network administrator. The router is working fine so its the TV (and I suspect the firmware update) that is causing issue. A lot of reports on the internet with a alot of SMART tv users having similar internet connection issues, but no solutions posted yet. Has anyone resolved this issue? Would trying to reinstall an older firmware version work?

Why cant my TV suddenly connect to the internet?

Ive been using SmartHub successfully to access online services (AmazonPrime, iPlayer etc) until yesterday. Now my TV will connect to the router but not to the internet. Ive contacted ISP but it doesnt seem to be a problem from their side. Ive searched Google and this seems to be a common problem but so far I havent found a fix. Any help greatfully received!

Network connection error - network working

TV reports network error connecting to internet when trying to access iPlayer, etc. No changes to network or settings to explain fault. Connecting to different, working, port produces same result. Connecting a laptop to normal port via LAN cable is ok. Reconnect telly and get same failure with IP services. With everything reconnected as normal setup, was able to update SmartHub software via TV successfully even though retrying connection to online services still fails! Im stuck!

Why can I not gain access to the internet?

Ive not used the internet on the TV for probably 2 years or so. We now decided to connect it and it wont connect to the internet, but it does find the router. Manual or auto ips just dont work. Even put a cable direct from TV into the BT Home Hub5 and still nothing. Upgraded now to latest firmware in case and no surprise really as no connection. Whats weird is we have 2 of these TVs. Exactly the same. One is fine, the other isnt.

I have a 40 inch Samsung OLED TV and I would like to know what I have to do to record programmes onto my Samsung M3 500GB portable external hard drive.
The TV is not independently connected to the internet but is connected to a ROKU box.

Can I upgrade the HDMI 1.4 to 2.0?

My tv is a UE40EH5300 smart tv. I want to connect my laptop (with hdmi 2.0) but I get "no signal" answer. I think its because the old 1.4 HDMI.

Why does my 40" series 5 TV not recognise the Lan internet connection nor does it recognise the USB stick update.

TV does not recognise the Lan internet connection. I tried updating the firmware&#59; thinking this may be the problem, but when I connect the USB stick with latest firmware update on it, it say there is no update on the memory stick, but I know there is.
Any suggestions ?

Can I use this UK TV in Japan (overseas)?

I just purchased this TV in the UK a few months ago, but I am now moving to Japan. Does anyone know if this TV will work in Japan.

The digital TV tuner probably wont work, but I would just be ordering a cable service like I had with Virgin and that media source would come in over the HDMI, so I dont think it would really matter. Of course I would need a step down converter to go from 220v to 100v in Japan, but seeing that the wattage is low for these TVs, a step down/up transformer should be fairly cheap.

Im a bit concerned about the whole PAL/NTSC thing though. As I know PAL is used in the UK and NTSC is used in Japan, or is this more of a thing of the past and not something to worry about (i.e. the TV supports both formats and just switches to whatever the input mode is in)?

How do I connect the sound bar?

I have a UE40EH5300KXXU TV, and I have just bought a Sound Bar model HWF350. Initially I connected it using the supplied audio cable, but got no sound. So I purchased an optical cable but the plugs dont seem to fit the sockets in the TV or the bar. I have set the speakers to "external" on the TV. Could you advise?

Hi Brad, We recommend that you use a HDD that supports USB connection and has at least 1TB in memory. You will be able to purchase these from your high street retailers.

Hi Brian,

Using the channel function, you can delete channels, set favorite channels and edit the channel name for analogue broadcast. Please check out the user manual for more information on this http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/201211/20121110095845360/01-XTDVBEUE-ENG-1109.pdf. Hope this helps.

Why does my Samsung EH5300 Smart Tv keeps turning the volume down to zero by itself

This happens intermittantly, we have even tried removing the batteries out of the remote to rule out a button being stuck down but this still happens but only every now and again. As this TV is now 15 months old it is just out of its warrenty so I'm hoping for a fix.

Can't download any apps

Hi,
I have a new Samsung TV EH5300, this is connected directly to my sky router via an ethernet cable. The tv definitely has internet access as i can use the browser with no problem and load the pages fine. The problem i have is trying to install any app (e.g. BBC Iplayer or Netflix), basically I go to install the app, it saids downloading, but 1 hour later still saids downloading!!.
I have tried to an update on the tv and it saids its up to date. Also i have powered off the tv and removed the plug from the wall and this has made no difference.
Is the tv faultly??
