You don't need a dongle - in this model, WiFi is built-in.

it has a special lead that you connect the scart lead to that then connects to the tv thats why you cant see the scart socket. So you will be able to connect one scart lead to the tv

I have just purchsesed this model TV (D6530) and although it does not have a scart socket it had an adapter cable supplied with it to enable a scart lead to be connected.

Yes, only on programmes that are transmitted in surround sound though, and as long as you have an AV receiver/home cinema box that can handle this. Your home cinema box may also be able to convert the stereo sound into surround too.

Yes there is a 'movie' mode to fix to 24fps, and you can also set the motion correction to 'clear', which minimises processing.

this is probably going to sound silly but I am considering buying one of these:- but do you have to watch everything in 3D? Does it try to convert all 2D to 3D when watching/playback or is there a setting that allows it the viewing to remain in 2D - and only 3D is viewed if it is transmitted or via playback, or if conversion has been requested via a setting ?

The TV works as normal in 2D as a normal TV would work. You need to change the settings to get the 3D picture.

I've got a small kb with touchpad. wireless with usb connector at the tv. it works perfectly. only thing is you have to "click" in the input box on the tv with the remote, then you can type text with the kb. It only doesnt work on the youtube logo. I've got a 40d6530.

How can I play MKV/MP4 video files?
I am trying to stream MKV and MP4 video files from my Mac to the Samsung D6530. I have tried several different media servers but each time I get the message that the file format is not supported for an MKV or that the codec is not supported for MP4. I was wondering if there was anything you could recommend.
I have tried: PS3 Media server (it works fine through the Ps3), TV Mobilli, Serviio and Plex.
Any help?

This model is not directly compatible with these file types. There are 3rd party programs available which will convert the files types. For a full list of compatible file types, please consult your manual.

Tricky one to answer, I would say if it requires a plug in then the answer is no however skype is supported and skype always gets updated so there is the capability must be there

Just recently bought a UE40D6530 TV and am trying to set it up. The TV is not connected to anything (no cables etc). I am not getting any channels on scan. So wanted to know if I need to buy FreeView or something similar.

We can confirm that this set has built in Freeview. You have stated that the TV is not connected to anything, cables etc, you will need to connect an aerial to this device in order to receive the digital channels. Once the aerial is connected, please run the scan again.

Hi Stephen, unfortunately there is no compatible dedicated keyboard for this device.
We would suggest that you have a look at our RMC30D1 touch screen remote control, which features an onscreen keyboard which can be used with the web browser.
