Looking for Answers about samsung SMT-S7800High DefinitionFreesat Recorderwith 500Gb HDD?

When I switch the tv off, the display on the recorder changes to the digital clock, shortly after that the display goes blank with only the blue light on and then a series linked recording will not take place. I have the the Advanced Power Saving Mode turned off. What do I do to stop this happening. My SM700 is connected to a Samsung Series 7 Smart TV. I have only had the Freesat Set-Top Box 4 months.

Is there a place where people can let Samsung know about all the software bugs in this product?
There are some HUGE problems with this box and if these are not fix soon Samsung will find it self getting a bad name.

Samsung need to let people know that these problems are known and they are working on a solution.

Please can Samsung or other users identify whether the product has DiSEqC switching or motor control options and how these are to be accessed to set them up. If so which DiSEqC versions does it support, 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 or other e.g. USALS?

Is it possible to set up the lnb inputs to the rear of the products to work with a different combination of satellites for each input. For example, if you want to watch UK and European channels you might want to have the following setup:
Input LNB1 connected via diseqc switch to satellites at 28.2E and 19.2E
and
Input LNB2 connected to 13E and a second output from a dual/quad lnb for 28.2E?
How do you access these settings?

The review by Quaker only shows the first three and a half lines of the report. If you click on "more" you only get a headed blank page.

Does the SMT-S7800 support DiSEqC switching for multiple satellites or motor control in non-freesat mode?
Can LNB 1 and LNB inputs be set up for different groups of satellites or must they be identical?

Apart from freesat channels, i want to record free-to-air channels from abroad which are not part of the freesat system. Obviously the programme guide will not work with these, but can you set a tmer to record from these channels? (you can't using the HUMAX foxsat HD-PVR).

The title says it all, why was this product not tested for at least a week in a home enviroment before you put it on sale and all the major bugs then fixed in the software?
It would have been better for all of us if you had.

If I plug in a Samsung WIS09ABGN into any of the front or rear USB slots on the s7800 PVR will the unit recognise and configure it for wireless internet connection.

You can delete unused or unnecessary channels on the TV but not on this PVR it seems, and to choose what to record you have to have lots of unneeded channels which you have to scroll through to get to the channel wanted. I only watch 10 channels at the most.
It is possible to create a favourites list, but I can see no way of having the favourites showing with the EPG attached. (It makes the favourites list a bit redundant I think)
Perhaps it is possible and I just cant see how. I have spent hours trying. I can do it with a 2 year old Freeview PVR so it should be possible.

On my Samsung LCD TV (LE40F86BDX/XEU) I can switch off the Light Effect (blue glow light in front of the TV) via a System option. On the S7800, there doesn't appear to be an option to switch of the blue glow. It is quite bright, particularly during the night if you leave it to record a program. The blue glow also tends to shout "I'm here" for anyone looking through the window and thinking "I'll have that".

Any ideas if this is already live or date for release?

Is there any news on when ITV Player will come, and are there plans for others such as 4OD or LoveFilm like on Samsung TVs?

My machine keeps re-booting itself as i get the hdd is not ready message and then the picture pops up for about 5 seconds before it does it all over again. Tried turning it on and off, can't get into the menu settings to reset the box. Any idea on what I can try next???

I have restarted the box many times (full power cycle) and have upgraded the firmware to 005.000.0300 (which the box says is the latest) and are still having problems.
Do Samsung customer service have any further suggestions, or indeed a firmware update that actually addresses the problem rather than a full reset that just gets rid of the library and doesn't actually solve the problem/software error?

Use of BBC iPlayer with my SMT-S7800 on firmware version V5.0.300 consistently exhibits lip sync errors, i.e. the video and audio are out of synchronisation by over a second, making iPlayer unusable. Are Samsung going to fix this error in a new version of the firmware?

I have a series record set up off More 4 but the recording always finishes before the program has ended, VERY ANNOYING!!! Is there a setting to allow more buffering at the start / end of a program?

when i 1st got this box 2day the screen of my tv keept goin blue now its stuck on bbc1

After box has been in standby mode overnight,when switched on volume is at full power.Any ideas whats wrong???

The manual says to hold down the TV button until the LED blinks, to allow a 3 digit manufactuer code to be entered (to control the TV using the Samsung remote). But I find that no matter how long I hold the TV button, the LED does not blink. A quick google search turns up other people with the same issue. Maybe somebody from Samsung can offer a solution?
