Question

Backlit keyboard not working with Windows 7 ultimate

I've downgraded my NP700z5c-A02 from Windows 8 to Windows 7. However since I've started running Windows 7 the backlit keyboard is not working. It was working out of the box. Could you point me in the right direction of any additional drivers or explain the problem please?

Hi Hayley,

I can understand the inconveniences that software issues may cause.

Unfortunately, not all Windows 8 models are down gradable, see the licensing link below before attempting a downgrade.

www.microsoft.com/oem/en/licensing/sblicensing/pages/downgrade_rights.aspx#fbid=FGced79fcW3

How to check if Model is supported:

1. Update SW Update to Latest Version
2. Click Find Model
3. Input the model name in the top right of the window
4. For example, if you input "NP900X3B", you will see the different models listed. Click the correct one.
5. If the model is down gradable, you will see not only "Windows 8" but also "Windows 7"
6. If that model is not down gradable after inputting "NP900X3A", you will see "Windows 8" only.

Windows 8 Downgrade Process:

1. Prepare to install Windows 7
Check list before installation

※ Note: Actions when the system cannot boot to DVD

Set the priority of ‘DVD’ as first
You can change priority using F5/F6 key
