Hi,

Please check out this link to find your nearest service centre, http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/servicelocation/. The engineers will perform a full service on your Note and also complete a software update for you. Hope this helps.

Hi.

The Galaxy Note is the device that is most geared towards business use. I've attached the page from our website giving more information about the note.

Question

MHL has stopped working

I now cannot view my phone on the TV through the HDMI - it flickered a couple of times and stopped working, I purchased another MHL (Correct one thinking it was that, tryed a new power lead and even a new HDMI lead and also tried it on another TV, yet there is still no joy.
My son tried his phone and it works a treat, I assume I may have something broken in the phone or I may need some software. Any ideas welcome.

You could try downloading Samsung Link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sec.pcw to view media through your Samsung TV. However, it might be worth getting your phone serviced by an engineer to see if any damage has been done. 1. From the Home screen tap the Applications menu item.
2. Tap the Play Store menu item.
3. Tap the Search button.
4. Search for the App you would like to download and then tap the Search button.
5. Tap the App you would like to download.
6. Tap the install button.
7. Tap the accept button.

How do I remove an App? I have a second hand phone not restored to factory settings. On Facebook it is permanently logged into the previous owners account : there being no field to sign out and log in as another fb user. How do I delete this app so I can reload fb again for myself?

Hi.

To remove an app please follow this step by step guide.

1. Tap Applications
2. Tap Settings
3. Tap Applications
4. Tap Manage Applications
Accross the top you should see icons stating "Downloaded" "All" "On SD Card" and "Running"
5. Tap on the app you want to delete
6. Tap Uninstall
7. Confirm this by tapping OK

This will delete the app.

Try going to the Google Play store and select 'My Apps'. Here you should see a full list of your apps, which you can then reinstall

Hi Marija,

Unfortunately, you can only password protect your complete phone.

To lock the screen please follow these instructions:

Go to Settings > Location and Security > Set up screen lock > Here you can set up either a pattern, PIN or Password lock on your phone.

Why is my wifi not working?

The wifi on my GT-N7000 used to work perfectly, but one day it just turned itself off and cannot be switched on! The Wifi symbol in the notification panel is a dull green (not greyed-out as it would be when switched off, but also not bright green as it would be when switched on). When I try to turn wifi back on it says "Turning on..." then does nothing. I don't recall having had a system update or installing any new apps immediately before this problem occured. Restarting in safe mode made no difference, neither did removing the battery/sim/SD card.

Hi,

This sounds like it may be a firmware glitch on your Note, a way to trying to resolve this is by performing a factory data reset on your device.

Please backup your phone using Samsung KIES. Perform a factory reset by pressing Menu > settings > Accounts > Backup and reset > Factory data reset . When this is completed please connect your phone to Samsung KIES and restore your phone.

my imei has changed

my imei has changed overnight to 00499901040000/01 this seems very common according to a google of the imei code im now getting. im still able to go online or use apps that need net access, but i cant make calls/texts or get them.. ive done a factory restore but still have the same imei code.. how do i get my imei back to what it should be.. thanks. the phone is a contract phone which started in sept 12

Hi Darren,

The IMEI number within the phone settings should match the IMEI number behind the battery on the back of your phone.

This will not change granted you do not route or unlock the phone to other networks.

If you are worried about your phone you can have it looked at by a Samsung engineer, there are two options for this;

Firstly you can take it to a local service centre, find your nearest one by clicking on the link below;

Battery drain problem since firmware update

Had a message a couple of weeks ago to update the firmware on my Note, updated to Android 4.1.2 and since then the phone is useless as the battery drains from full charge to empty in about an hour if wi-fi or location is on or if my e-mails are synced and the phone is running very hot. Surely Samsung should check these updates before issuing them. At the moment I can only use my phone with all apps/services switched off if I want my battery to last but, even then, it only lasts for a few hours whereas it used to last a couple of days with fairly light use. I'm not the only one that this has happened to - check Google. I just want my Note to work as it did before this stupid update - help!

Please kindly note that old systems settings can be left on the phone after an update occurs, which is why we usually recommend a full factory reset after updating. If this isn’t done your device may begin to give false readings from system resources, or experience technical problems, which may explain the issue you are having.
