Hi.

Applications can take up a large amount of storage on devices. To create more storage on your Galaxy Ace you can purchase a Micro SD card. This slots in to the device and allows applications and data to be saved externally. Please visit the link below which shows you the different types of Micro SD cards that are available.

http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/memory-cards-hdd-odd/memory-cards/

If you do not wish to purchase external storage you can try deleting data from your device. Deleting items such as pictures, emails, and text messages can all create more storage on the device. You can also try clearing your internet history and cache. Please follow the steps below on how to clear the cache individually.

Settings > Application Manager > Select Application > Clear Cache

You can also check which element of the device is taking up the most storage. You can do this by going to Settings > Storage. This will allow you to view all the storage on the device and manage it accordingly. You are also able to clear all cached data from every application you have rather than going through them individually. Once you have acknowledged what is taking up the most storage on your device you can get a better understanding of what needs to be removed.

I hope this helps.

Yes.there is also a 2g mode which should be used instead of 3g when possible because the 3g does drain the battery a lot quicker.2g allows you to call and send texts but not go on the internet.

Question

How to delete messages?

I cannot receive any text messages on my samsung galaxy ace. Whenever anybody tries to text me it says in the notification bar 'incoming message rejected. Memory full. Delete some items.' I have tried deleting all the threads, deleted all my call history / logs, cleared all the data in the messaging application and fiddled around with the settings. I am not sure what to do and it is very annoying as i can't use my phone for anything other than calling.

We are sorry to hear of the issues you are experiencing. Could you ensure you have a MicroSD card, and no third party applications are installed on the phone, and are moved to the SD card. Third party applications take up a lot of memory, so if you have them on the internal memory, it is taking up space that should be used for messages etc. If you go to settings > applications > manage applications, you can check third party applications, and move them to SD card. Alternatively we would recommend backing up all data and performing a reset on the device: Applications - Settings - Privacy - Factory data reset.
