Hi Toony,

What kind of data is you are trying to move to your SD card?

Only files such as photos, music and videos are really compatible with your SD card.

If you are trying to save applications to your memory card this does not always work.

We recommend you try and save all media files to your SD card to free up internal memory for you applications.

To do this go to My Files > Select the folder you wish to move > Select the files you wish to move > Click on the icon at the top right hand corner of your screen which looks like 3 horizontal lines and select Move > Choose to move to EXTSDcard.

Hi,

You can find all internet settings for your phone’s mobile data as well as its Wi-Fi by following these instructions:

Go to Settings > Wireless and Networks > For Wi-Fi settings tap on Wi-Fi and for mobile data tap on Mobile Networks.

Here you will find the option to turn your internet off.

USB connection Problems with Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830

Has anyone had trouble connecting via USB, I can not connect my phone anymore ,, it did work initially but something has gone amiss somehow and now it just doesnt even recognise its there any help be greatly appreciated.. thankyou

Please ensure that you have all media and moveable items stored on your SD card and not on the phone.

You can check where most of the storage is being used by following the steps provided;

1.) Open up the settings app.

2.) Within this list locate SD card and phone storage.

3.) Here you can see the correct amount of storage available.

Custom Ringtones

I wish to add a custom ringtone using an mp3 file from either the SD card or from my pc.
There does not appear to be any custom options on the Ringtone setting
Is this possible and if so how can I do this?

Hi Ron,

You can set music from your SD card as your ringtone by following these instructions:

1. Open ‘My Files’

2. Go in to Music folder

3. Select the song you would like to set as your ring tone

4. Tap the menu key at the bottom left hand of your handset which will bring up a separate menu on the screen

5. ‘Set as ringtone’ will be an option

Hi Peter,

The Galaxy Ace does not have a front camera, you can still use Skype to make voice calls however.

You can use a Spanish Sim card in the phone, the network however will only connect in Spain. If you are having problems connecting your phone to the network in Spain we recommend contacting the Network provider.

Hi,

There are only certain applications that are able to be stored to an memory/SD card. To make sure an application can be saved to the SD card please follow these steps:

Go to settings > Find Application Manager > Slide across until ‘All applications’ are viewable > Tapping on an application will bring up separate window and if it is possible to save this app to the SD card then the option will be on the screen. If the option is not there then I’m afraid it is only possible to save this app to the phone memory.

We recommend saving media files such as photos and videos to the SD card to free up phone memory for applications.

notification sounds not working

Up till yesterday I was getting notification tones for txt and whatsap, nits suddenly stopped even thoughnoptions r still checkednand volume is at max. Done the re boot and reset by taking the battery out...am I missing something?

Hi,

The best way to transfer theses files is to drag and drop/copy and paste them onto your desktop. The steps on how to do this are as follows;
1.) Connect your Ace to your PC via the USB cable, this will be viable on your PC as GT-S5830.

2.) Open GT-S5830 to view files.

3.) Locate your pictures. Folder named DCIM if they are camera pictures and Pictures if they are downloaded.

4.) Drag and drop/copy and paste them onto the PC desktop.

I have a problem with my Galaxy GTS 5830,

Since clearing out the messages on my phone Monday night, It now beeps constantly when switched on, and says memory full Internal space is nearly full, Delete/ uninstall some applications or data and try again, I sent a text yesterday afternoon, and only got a reply this morning, I also got someone to call me, I got the missed call message this morning too. I can call out. I don't use anything other than calls, texts, emails, and occasionally google and my camera. Do I need a new phone, or can you help me to fix this problem. It is 2 years old. Or do I need to contact O2 about this.

It is most likely a minor software confliction that is causing this issue to occur.

These minor software issues can easily be resolved by performing a factory reset on your device.

You can perform a factory reset on your device by navigating to the following menu:

Settings > Backup and reset > Factory data reset

Please note you will lose all applications and saved data, including your Google account, so ensure that you back up your device prior to performing the reset. This may help resolve any issues you are having.

SD Card problems and file transfer

There is an empty SD card of 2 GB in my Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830i but there is no use of it (and it's completely new) because phone keeps telling me to mount it.

With last and updated version of Kies, I can't transfer files from my PC to phone. What should I do?

Question

My phone keeps running out of memory

Whenever I try downloading an app the message appears that my internal memory is full and to delete apps. I only have a few apps on my phone so this does not make sense. I have deleted a lot of text messages and whatsapp messages plus cleared my phone call logs and still there doesn't seem to be space. I have bought an sd card and tried to transfer things to that but the apps cannot be transferred. Any idea

The may be data stored on your phone after certain applications are deleted.

We would advise on doing the following, which is designed to reset the settings on your device. Please back up your device using Samsung KIES before you do this.

Unfortunately there is no way of blocking numbers directly from the phone.

However there may be third party applications available in the Google Play store on your phone that may provide this service.
