Hi,

This will depend on the particular app you are wanting to upload.

By searching keywords in the Google Play store you can see applications available to download to your Galaxy Ace.

Please note, Samsung cannot guarantee compatibility with any application not developed by Samsung, ultimately it is the responsibility of the third party developer to ensure their applications are compatible with our devices and their current firmware.

Question

Samsung Galaxy Ace battery gone haywire

I noticed sometime after charging my phone and unplugging it that it still had that 100% charged removed charger notification displayed. I removed the battery and all seemed OK. Later on as the battery life had decreased I put it back on charge but it wouldn't charge. I used the USB charger and that too didn't work. I then noticed a few minutes later that the battery was increasing but it didn't say it was charging. It then got stuck at 99% so I removed the charger. About 30 minutes later I removed the battery again and the phone wouldn't switch on unless the charger was in. It then charged to 100% and beeped but the 100% icon and remove charger message wouldn't go when I removed the charger. I removed the battery again and had to press the on button twice before it would switch on. The100% icon and removed battery message had disappeared and the battery life showed as 87%. I put it back on charge and noticed it was increasing. I unplugged it at 99% and when it had run down to 95% I switched it off and on again and the battery showed as 87%. I thought it was just coincidental that both times it came back on at 87% but I then noticed that even though it was NOT on charge the battery level increased. I switched it off for a few minutes and when back on the battery was 87% again. I left it on and the battery has increased to and remained at 94%. On switching it off again the battery displays at 85% but I guess the cycle will continue.

What is wrong with the phone? It is still working perfectly and there are no other problems with it. Looking on the internet I can't find anything that is similar to this so wonder if anyone else has experienced this.

All help/ideas appreciated. If it needs repairing does anyone have an idea of prices?

Hi,

It is most likely a minor software confliction that is causing this issue to occur.

These minor software issues can easily be resolved by performing a factory reset on your device.

You can perform a factory reset on your device by navigating to the following menu:

Settings > Backup and reset > Factory data reset

Please note you will lose all applications and saved data, including your Google account, so ensure that you back up your device prior to performing the reset. This may help resolve any issues you are having.

If you continue to experience these issues after the reset please contact our Technical Support Team for further assistance on 0330 7267864.

Hi Toony,

What kind of data is you are trying to move to your SD card?

Only files such as photos, music and videos are really compatible with your SD card.

If you are trying to save applications to your memory card this does not always work.

We recommend you try and save all media files to your SD card to free up internal memory for you applications.

To do this go to My Files > Select the folder you wish to move > Select the files you wish to move > Click on the icon at the top right hand corner of your screen which looks like 3 horizontal lines and select Move > Choose to move to EXTSDcard.

Hope this helps,

Thanks

Hi Gilly,

Please ensure that you have all media and moveable items stored on your SD card and not on the phone.

You can check where most of the storage is being used by following the steps provided;

1.) Open up the settings app.

2.) Within this list locate SD card and phone storage.

3.) Here you can see the correct amount of storage available.

If you are still having issue call our Galaxy Team on 0330 726 7864.

Hi Peter,

The Galaxy Ace does not have a front camera, you can still use Skype to make voice calls however.

You can use a Spanish Sim card in the phone, the network however will only connect in Spain. If you are having problems connecting your phone to the network in Spain we recommend contacting the Network provider.

Hi,

There are only certain applications that are able to be stored to an memory/SD card. To make sure an application can be saved to the SD card please follow these steps:

Go to settings > Find Application Manager > Slide across until ‘All applications’ are viewable > Tapping on an application will bring up separate window and if it is possible to save this app to the SD card then the option will be on the screen. If the option is not there then I’m afraid it is only possible to save this app to the phone memory.

We recommend saving media files such as photos and videos to the SD card to free up phone memory for applications.

Hi,

The best way to transfer theses files is to drag and drop/copy and paste them onto your desktop. The steps on how to do this are as follows;
1.) Connect your Ace to your PC via the USB cable, this will be viable on your PC as GT-S5830.

2.) Open GT-S5830 to view files.

3.) Locate your pictures. Folder named DCIM if they are camera pictures and Pictures if they are downloaded.

4.) Drag and drop/copy and paste them onto the PC desktop.

Thanks.
