Hi Cynthia,

You can delete call/contact history by following these steps:

Contacts > Logs > Tap on the left hand menu key at the bottom of the handset > Tap Delete > Select the log/s you wish to delete.

How does the micro SD card fit into the phone, the user manual shows a slot on the side under the back cover but this is blocked by a piece of plastic

The SD card should go in a slot on the side of the phone.

If you cannot insert the card here, or there is something blocking it, please ensure the phone does not already have an SD card inserted.

Please ensure all media files such as music, photos and videos are all saved to your external memory card. This will free up space on your internal memory for applications.

how do i find out how much internet usage has been used on my sons phone

its a Samsung galaxy y. he got it after Christmas and has already used all the credit yet theres only a few texts and calls been made so I want to see where all the credits gone!

Question

WIFI Sleep Mode

I bought the Samsung Galaxy Y for my father and installed WHATSAPP for him to keep in touch with family using WIFI when in his house.

The problem we have is the WIFI keeps going into sleep mode and therefore he is not receiving WHATSAPP message notifications unless he keeps unlocking his phone to check.

I have ensured the WIFI sleep mode setting is set to NEVER but it is still going to sleep after 15 mins or so?

Can anyone help?

Hi,

To do this you will need to connect your phone to your computer using a USB cable.

Once connected you can view your photos on your phone in a folder > Select the photos you wish to save to your PC > Drag these selected photos from the phone folder to your desktop or to a created folder on your computer.

does the galaxy still store videos even when the wrong stop recording button is pressed

i recently recorded something on my phone however when i went to stop recording i accidently pressed the wrong button and cant find the footage in my gallery would it have automaticly deleted/not save this footage. if not how can i get to view it

Hi Paul,

The video may not have been saved it recording had not been stopped correctly.

To view recorded videos got to Applications > My Files > SDcard0 if the video will have been saved to the internal memory, or EXTSDcard if it will have been saved to memory card > Then tap on DCIM > Then go in to the videos folder.

If the video does not appear in this folder it will not have been saved successfully on the device.

PAY AS YOU GO

I have this phone on pay and go but it has used most of my £10 credit.I have switched off the wi fi etc but now i cant send texts?Has it continued to use the remainder of my credit? The Balance enquiry option says that it isnt available at the moment so i dont know what left to use. What do i need to do to be able to phone and make texts??

I transferred my contacts from my old phone to my sim which is now in my new phone. I want to sort my contacts into groups with different ring tones and the manual gives little information and nothing on this.

To add contacts to groups, you must firstly ensure that the contact is saved to your phone memory, then you can follow these instructions:
1.
2. From any Home screen, tap Contacts.
3. Scroll to and tap the contact you want to add.
4. Tap the Menu key.
5. Tap Edit.
6. Scroll to and tap Groups.
7. Scroll to and tap the desired group.
8. Tap Done.
9. Tap Save.

It may be that your contacts are saved to your SIM card rather than your phone.

You can ensure that your contacts are all save to your phone by following the instructions provided on this link:

Once your contacts are save on your phone memory you will be able to add photos.
