IS THERE A USB PORT ON GALAXY TABLET 10.I?
I have read several reviews. Many have complained that there is no usb port. The specifivcation on the Samsung site says there is. Which is correct? All I want to be able to do is to transfer files between the tablet and a memory stick.

Yes there is a Samsung adapter capable of even enabling you to attach a usb flash disk& also functions as a card reader too!

Hi, The 10.1 Tablet does not have a USB port on it but it has bluetooth functionality to transfer media between devices.

No direct port.
You can get an optional Samsung adapter that plugs into the only connecter on the bottom, and that will provide USB. I would recommend you do a search on the many forums on the Internet first to see exactly what has been tested with this USB adapter.

I bought the samsung ue55d8000 series tv and the samsung galaxi tab 10.1 because in the store they said that I could use the tab as a remote and as an extra screen as well if I want to, is this true , and if yes how can I do this????

I am no expert but I have been told that if its a smart TV then you can use the 10.1 as a remote and also view the tab 10.1 on the TV like a monitor (Viewed in PC world Store). I am trying to figure out how this can be done though before I buy a Smart TV.

I don't have the 3G version but I do use Skype & Skype Video Calling to talk & see my daughter and our new granddaughter who live abroad. The video picture quality on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is stunning and the audio is crystal clear. I occasionally use the Skype SMS service which I find very useful at times. Personally I don't see my Tab as a mobile phone but as a great entertainment system, keeping up to date with my family & friends on Facebook and Twitter and by email using the excellent email client provided.

Do you have to use the ADVFN site! Infact do you have to use the web browser.
I use the Google stock app for free (there are others), and it displays all charts just fine.

Hi, unfortunately, this feature is not supported on this tablet. You can, however, stream the films from certain internet websites.

Can I use the 10.1 tablet to deliver microsoft powerpoint slideshows on a projector just like any laptop
i.e. can this tablet be used exactly like a laptop with full functionality to a projector and can it also take a USB remote clicker pen aswell? I am considering an all in 1 destop PC for my office and buying a tablet PC for the days I need to be mobile to give demonstrations and present my research work to the lab etc...

You can view powerpoint slides using polaris office and output to HDMI (optional cable). Check if your projector supports this. You can connect a usb device (another cable), but not at the same time.

There are many options:
1. Connect the tablet to the PC, it should show up as a disk drive under 'My Computer', copy the file to the tablet;
2. Email it to yourself and open the email on the tablet.

Given that this question is under the Wi-Fi version of the Galaxy Tab the answer is No. You will need to buy the 3G version of the 10.1 tablet to have an alternative to Wi-Fi to access the internet.

Yes, the device should connect like any other that is WiFi enabled. You need to check the SSID on your hub and select this as the option from the available networks on your Tab 10.1 . If you live in a town, some of your neighbours may have WiFi that your device can see which can be confusing. If you have a password on your homehub to prevent unauthorised wireless access (standard on most of the newer HomeHubs) you will need to enter it at the prompt on the tablet (if you have forgotton or dont know if you have a password to connect devices, look under the homehub and all of the details should be on a label). No, although there are similar applications available on the Android Market and some are compatible with MS products i.e. one is able to view and edit MS documents on the tablet..
