No, unfortunately it only has a proprietary port for connecting Samsung supplied cable. You can however also transfer files using Wi-Fi too.

According to the webpage for the software used to sync Samsung devices it appears not to be supported at present: http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/usefulsoftware/KIES/JSP but I would email Samsung to confirm.

No it is not possible to make normal phone calls with the 8.9"; there is no functioning dialler application although it is possible to send text messages. However, note that one is able to make phone calls via an app e.g. Skype but that will require Skype credit and a mobile data allowance i.e. one is using the internet to make the connection.

The devices all have internal memory storage but no feature for expansion e.g. a SD card slot.

No, there is no dialler application allowing the 8.9 to work as a mobile phone. This question has been asked many times on various developer forums and there is presently no solution; it also doesn't look like there will be one.

Yes, the screen rotates and Samsung have added a shortcut in the pop-up menu when one taps the time in the bottom right to enable locking of the screen position.

If you have the 3g version of this device, a sim card will allow you to access the internet on the move. Please ensure you have a data plan, as mobile internet can be very expensive.

If it's a P7300 then it should be a 3G version; the 7310 is the Wi-Fi only version; the more obvious way to tell is that the 3G version has a SIM card slot.

The 3G version can send SMS but can not make phone calls; independent developers appear to have been able to enable phone calls with the Ice Cream Sandwich version of Android.

The Galaxy tab 8.9 can indeed be used to make calls. A dialer does not come pre-installed on the device, however 3rd party applications are available via the Android Marketplace.

The Galaxy tab 8.9 can be connected to your computer via the supplied USB cable. This can be used to turn the device into a mass storage device, which will allow you to transfer files between the two. You can also use our Samsung KIES software to sync devices. www.samsung.com/uk/kies
