Question

Why am i continually having problems connecting to my computer via usb.

I am using windows Vista 64bit with the latest Kies software installed and i am getting error messages saying that my computer in not connecting via the usb, the only way to get round this at present is to restart Windows and the usb connects only once.

Is there any way to set parental controls on the Galaxy Tab 2.0 7"?

I am going to buy a Galaxy tab 7" for my son, but not sure if there is any way to block him from going on certain sites, restrict what he can download, etc, etc.

Hi,

There are third party applications - available to download via the Play Store that can block certain sites/applications and notify you be email each time a new appliaction is downloaded.

Hi,

Open your gallery and keep your finger pressed on the photo you wish to delete and select the bin icon from the top right of the gallery.

Tablet and Hard drive

I have a samsung galaxy tab 2 and want to connect my western digital 1TB hard drive to it. I have the correct cable but when I do connect it, it says its a high powered device and wont connect. is there anyway i can connect it?

Hi AmieLouise,

The only connectivity between these two devices can only be achieved using DLNA with your hard drive saved as a shared device on a pc. You can transfer files to an SD card and place this on your Tab.

Hi,

To delete widgets, go to the Widget drawer > Press Menu (top right hand corner) > Choose 'Uninstall' > Select widgets you wish to delete. Please note, pre-installed widgets cannot be removed.

To take a screen shot hold the Power button and the Volume Down button simultaneously.

Question

why wont my tablet turn on?

the battery died so i put it on charge all day yesterday, however when its charging it loads the loading circle on the battery, it then goes up 1 notch then the screen goes black. I have not been able to even power it up after being on charge for more than 15 hrs! help me please!
My tablet has done this once before and i panicked but was able to turn back on. not this time though?

There is no way to increase the internal memory on your Tab but you may be able to significantly increase your external memory to store your media on.

Hi,

Please backup your phone using Samsung KIES. Perform a factory reset by pressing Menu > settings > Accounts > Backup and reset > Factory data reset . When this is completed please connect your phone to Samsung KIES and restore your phone.

Beside the refresh key there will be the number of pages you have open. click on that and click the - sign on the page you wish to close.

Question

Google Play Store not working on Galaxy Tab 2 7.0"

Hi, my GF has the above Tab and until 2 days ago the google play app store worked fine.

Now, the app loads and you can download apps on the homepage, but, if you try and search for an app (any app at all) you get the error message 'No results found for....'

we've tried searching for apps already installed (facebook, skype etc) and some that aren't (fatity, netflix, skygo) - while the predictive text part of the search function works fine (if you write face.....it gives you options like facebook, facebook messenger etc...) once you press the app you want you get the error message previously mentioned.

Please can you help?

You may need to update the video player application,go to Playstore,My apps and update all. It is best to do this on a Wi-Fi connection to avoid charges from mobile data.

Ignore the above answer, it isn't correct anymore, due to a new android update. With Android 4.2.2 you can now, but it depends on if the company of the app has made it compatible to move to SD card. This tends to be more of a popular option with popular apps (candy crush saga etc..)

Hi,

Some Apps do not have the ability to be moved to an external SD card. This is something we have no control over. You can use the My Files app to transfer files to and from your external memory card. This will allow you to free up more internal memory on your handset.

Everybody is hoping so, but at the moment it is seeming unlikely. I have only found 1 website which shows a slight possibility of a new update, and even that has not been confirmed, which means it is a rumor. If you turn off features that you either don't need to use at all, or don't need to use sometimes, and turn on power saving mode, and stop unused applications, and lower brightness, then less battery life will be used (though i never really do this and the battery still lasts 1hr-2hrs)

Question

Wi-Fi Won't Start

Everything has been running fine on a Tab2 7 until this morning when WiFi appears to have turned itself off. When you go into settings and attempt to turn WiFi back on it refuses to do so - after a few attempts it gives in and says: To see available networks, turn on Wi-Fi.

Two factory resets haven't resolved the issue.

Router hardware appears ok as other devices are still working, and the tablet hasn't been dropped or suffered from any other impact.

Anyone have any suggestions?

After a number of failed attempts the Tab will ask you for your Google Play Store account details.

If you cannot remember these call our Galaxy Team on 0330 726 7864 who will assist you in getting the device flashed.

Please note that proof of purchase is required and this is not covered by the manufactures warranty as it is not a manufacturing default.
