My tablet will not turn on why?

It starts with the spinning logo but then when it gets to when it says SAMSUNG flashing blue it does not do anything else it flashes until it runs out of battery.

Hi.

I recommend performing a factory data reset on your Galaxy Tab 2. You can do this by following these steps:
Settings - Back up and reset - Factory data reset - Reset device - Erase everything.

Performing a factory data reset will erase all data from your device. I advise that you back up your data on Samsung KIES. Please see the link below to find all of the information and tutorials on Samsung KIES:

Some of your device settings may have changed. To get email notifications back,
1: Tap apps from the home screen
2: Scroll across to settings
3: Press the Accounts tab
4: Tap email
5: Tap settings

Question

"not enough memory" error, despite only 1.1gb of 4.5gb showing used

I am getting a "Not enough memory" error, even though memory looks to be only ~20% used.

I cannot access Gallery so wont be able to move photos (but Im getting an SD card now, just in case). I have cleared all downloads but still cannot download anything new

And more confusingly, used space only amounts to 1.1gb of 4.5gb. Further, Settings, Storage says that 362MB downloads are in memory, but I have cleared them all and none are listed. Have also cleared internet cache, history & cookies, uninstalled some apps etc.

I just applied a Samsung account update, and switched off/on but no change. Non-official forums have hinted at this & other options, but I would be most grateful for the official Samsung answer, please

(NB hopefully the answer will not just be "purchase an SD card", because i am already doing this, but anyway, cannot currently access Gallery in order to move photos. so it wouldnt help. Plus photos are only taking (supposedly) 300mb of space, so I cant see how that would be sufficient issue).

Many thanks in advance for a speedy reply - please help, I cant currently use my Tab for much at all :(

Hi Lisa,

We would recommend you transferred all data from your tablet on to a computer and perfrom a factory reset on your device.

By doing this you will ensure any hidden information is cleared from the device and you can then restore your important data back on.

Can I enable 5GHz WiFi

I am in the Uk and I believe the Samsung Tab 2 can use 5GHz WiFi and my new BT router is broadcasting on 5GHz WiFi, but my Samsung Tam does not see it.

Hi,

You may need to move some of your data from the internal memory on your tablet to your external memory card, if you have one.

Media files such as photograph, videos and music can all be stored on a n external memory card which will free up space on your internal memory.

To check the space available on your internal memory follow these instructions:

Go to Settings on your application menu

Tap on Storage, this will then display the memory space remaining on the tablet as well as what features are using up the most memory.

If you would like to purchase a memory card for your tablet please visit 4mysamsung.co.uk. Please note your particular device can take micro SD cards with up to 32GB of space.

Hi Valentyna,

If you are referring to your WiFi I would suggest ensuring you are entering the correct wireless key. Remember that wireless keys are case sensitive so clicking show password would be advised.

No there is no HDMI connection available for the TAB 2.0 as this only connect via DLNA allshare.

The Tab 2 7.0 can only share media to another device via Samsung Link.

This Tab is not capable of carrying out this function via a lead.

Why is Group Play 'not available' on tab2 7inch although already downloaded and taking up valuable tablet memory?

I would like to know why an 'unavailable' app is pre installed, as it serves no useful purpose?
Given the low available internal memory any used for an 'unavailable' app is regrettable.

You will need the Wi-Fi and 3G version of the Galaxy Tab to bake phone calls as this is the only version that will accept a sim card and have a dialler.
