Hi,

As your PC would store these movies in a different format than that required of your Note this will not work.

We recommend using the Google Play Store to download movies on to your device.

Question

Why cant samsung publish a timetable for upgrades? Especially 4.3 and 4.4

I bought this device last year and feel cheated that it is now 3 versions behind where Android is. I did not expect to find that I need a 2014 note 10.1 to get a current android version.

Why cant samsung be open and honest and manage the expectations of consumers. Iwant to know the following:
How committed are samsung to the 2012 Note 10.1?
Will we get 4.3 and 4.4?
When will we get 4.3? I dont mind being told its 3 months away as long as i know when. Knowing nothing is more frustrating.

Question

Removing apps

I don't use various apps like ChatOn, Hangouts, Google Play Movies/Books/Music on my Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet. I would like to uninstall them to free up space in the internal memory but read online that you can't without 'rooting' the device. However when I go to the Play Store, there is an Uninstall option for these apps so I'm now confused. Also is there a list of apps that can be safely uninstalled without compromising the stability of my tablet?

Hi Aimee,

This depends a lot on what you intend on using the tablet for.

The Tab 3 and the Note 10.1 2014 edition have recently been released. These will be running up to date software and have the latest features.

You can view full specifications for all of our tablets, as well as reviews, features and where to purchase on our website.

Hi,

If the cover has come off your IR sensor, you would have to check with your local Samsung service center as to whether they could fix this for you.

You can find where your nearest Samsung service center is by using our service center locator on our website, or follow the link below:

http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/l...

Please note, a repair such as this would not be covered by the manufactures warranty and would incur a charge.

Question

Using Kies with 2 devices

Hi,

I have a Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505) on UK O2 which was updated to Android 4.3 today and a Galaxy Note 10.1 (GT-N8010) Wi-Fi only on Android 4.1.2

Up to now, I have been able to use Kies to synchronise and backup both devices. When the S4 upgrade was complete, Kies was upgraded to Kies 3 (3.2.13114_22) and I could sync OK> However, when I connect the Note 10.1 I am told that Kies 3 is not compatible and I should install Kies. This wants to 'upgrade' the version of Kies to the original Kies.

Is there a workaround?

Hi,

You can perform a factory reset on your device by navigating to the following menu:

Settings > Backup and reset > Factory data reset

Please note you will lose all applications and saved data, including your Google account, so ensure that you back up your device prior to performing the reset. This may help resolve any issues you are having.

If you continue to experience these issues after the reset please, or if you are unable to access the settings on your tablet, please contact our Technical Support Team for further assistance on 0330 7267964.

Hi Jonathan,

It is possible to connect to the S3 Mini’s mobile data by using the Bluetooth tethering option on the phone.

Go to Settings > Wireless and Networks > More Settings > Tethering and Portable Hotspots > Bluetooth Tethering > Ensure this is ticked.

Here you can also switch ‘Portable Wi-Fi Hotspots’ on. This will allow the mobile data on your phone to be available to other devices as a Wi-Fi network. Please not this will use up your phone’s mobile data usage not it’s Wi-Fi connection

Hope this helps,

Thanks.

Hi,

I have included below some hints and tips to help you get the most from your battery life.

Flight mode: This is a great one as it disables a lot of background services such as network signal, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.

Check your display settings: Long screen time-out settings, or high display brightness, will increase battery drain. For better battery life, please set the screen time-out to 15 seconds and display brightness to Auto.

Multimedia usage: Any apps/content usage that keeps the device awake over an extended period will quickly drain the battery - e.g. reading books, playing games, watching movies, etc. Try to manage your length of time on these activities in order to conserve battery life.

Question

I bought a Galaxy Note 10.1 in September and find it unbelievable that it does less than my 2 year old Galaxy Tab 2 7".

The main reason for the purchase was to download programs from BBC i player and Sky Go + as I work away from home 3 days a week. Guess what old operating system - Sky Go + app is not available and there is no download facility with BBC i player.
As a flagship product I am very disappointed with the Note 10.1 and will give it the lowest possible scores in reviews.
In short it has been a total waste of money as I don't even use it
