Hi.

I recommend performing a factory data reset on your Galaxy Note II. You can do this by following these steps:
Settings - Back up and reset - Factory data reset - Reset device - Erase everything.

Once you have performed the reset, try using the handwriting tool again. Please see page 47 of the user manual for guidance:

Performing a factory data reset will erase all data from your device. I advise that you back up your data on Samsung KIES. Please see the link below to find all of the information and tutorials on Samsung KIES:

Why doesnt my galaxy note 2 turn on?

My galaxy note 2 phone downloaded a software update today. Ran out of battery shortly after now will not charge. Does not Turn on when connected to mains and wont power up from a spare battery. Phone appears dead. Why?

Hi.

I recommend trying a hard reset on your device. You can do this by following these steps:

- With the phone switched off, press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key, then press and hold the Power key. At this point you should see the Android recovery screen.
- Scroll to Wipe Data/Factory Reset using the Volume Up or Down keys. Select with the power key.
- Scroll down to Yes, Delete User Data and select it.
- Back on the first screen, scroll down to Wipe Cache Partition and select it.
- Your factory reset is now complete.
- Go to Reboot System Now to restart the phone.

If this is unsuccessful then I advise that you contact your nearest service centre. Please visit the link below which will aid you in locating it:

Automatic Shut Down - Note ll (N7100)

Dear All

My Note-2 (N7100) is about 18 months old and was working fine till last week as now it is shutting down itself? every time it shut downs then I have take the battery out and put it back then it turn on and works fine but that is no good! Any help/advise please

Hi Robin, Have you checked your software for any updates? You can do this by; Going to the Home screen tap the Apps menu item> Drag screen to the left> Tap the Settings menu item> Tap the About device menu item> Tap the Software update menu item> Tap the Update menu item. Hope this helps.

Hi, Have you tried a factory reset? You can do this by; Making sure you back up your data before proceeding. From the Home screen touch Apps> Touch Settings> Touch the Accounts tab> Touch Back up and reset> Touch Factory data reset>Touch Reset device> Touch Erase everything. Hope this helps.

Question

Handwriting-to-text feature in Kitkat?

Since the upgrade to Android 4.4, handwriting-to-text has become useless. Only one line of text fits, space bar clears all entered text, delay before entering has become longer and spaces between words arent recognised. Am I missing something? Or is it possible to return to the useful version?

This is caused by the NFC capability of your device. Turning off NFC should stop this happening.

My UK Note 2 has now received the KitKat 4.4 update, had no information from Samsung whatsoever when I posted on here, got the same response that you did!
Check the update section on your phone and you should find it there now.

Question

My video recordings on my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will not play back consistent sound.Picture is fine but sound jumps on device & laptop.
