Every time i go to use my camera it says firmware updating, it wont update/go

Each time i use the camera it says firmware updating. I leave my camera on to update but it keeps coming off it if i dont use it. This is everytime. If anyone could help me get rid of this please

Firstly could you back up your S4 with Samsung KIES and perform a factory data reset. This should resolve the issue.

Hi

Firstly I would advise to go to Settings>More>Storage and check how much space you have available on your Galaxy S4. If stoarge is low you have the option to delete unused apps to free up some memory. Another option is to connect your S4 to your PC or laptop and drag and drop the DCIM folder to your desktop, you can delete or store your photos from here.

Hi Anonymous,

When you are looking at your logs if you tap left of the home button you get the option for view by, select all calls and this will only display your call logs, if you back out of this and go back in it will still show the call logs.

How do I stop the screen timing out when S4 is docked and charging in my car?

When I plug my S4 into my car dock and its charging via USA I dont want the screen to time out. mo S2 worked fine like this but I cant seem to find any setting which enables this or a Car Dock mode etc.

Windows was unable to install your CDC Abstract Control Model (ACM) - why?

When I plug in my Galaxy S4 it says new device software required and tries to update it and fails and comes up with the above message saying please put the cd that came with the device into your computer. I didn't get a cd so how to get over this?

Question

My GT-I9505 does not have the 4G/LTE option within the Network Mode menu

I have an O2 supplied GT-I9505 and have just upgraded to O2s 4G service but my phone does not have the option to switch to 4g in the menu settings and I'm not receiving a 4g connection. I have checked that I have the latest firmware installed and I'm using a new 4g sim card. O2 have confirmed that the settings at their end are correct.

Can anyone help?

I would suggest contacting o2 again because the phone reads the data for 4G from the sim then displays the options on your phone.

What are widgets and can i delete them?

I am new to android, I have noticed that there are quiet a lot of widgets under my widget tab, they have just appeared. Can I get rid of them? I am scared that they drown my battery and to be honest theres pages and pages of them.

Hi,

Widgets are tiny little icons that will feed information to your homescreen depending what they are developed for. These cannot be deleted.

Question

Black unresponsive screen S4

My S4 has suddenly stopped working after only having it for 3 months.
It shut itself off and altho it came back on when I turned it on the screen is now black and does not respond to anything. The 2 keys either side of the home button light up and the blue led light is flashing as im still receiving texts and emails but the screen will not light up or respond to touch?

Is this a claim on my warranty needing to be made or a simple screen replacement?

If this phone has failed due to a manufacturers defect Samsung will stand over our 2 year warranty and repair this phone for free. If there is physical damage deemed by the engineer there will be a fee to repair this. Please call our technical support line on local rate 03307267864 to arrange repairs.

Question

Win7 - Connected S4 Device shows "No Images"

I am trying to move my pics from S4 to Win7 PC.

I have connected the device, and it appears as a "portable media player".

Right-clicking and selecting "import images" gives the following message: "no images found"

Model is GT I9505

The images are definitely on the phone. Any ideas please?

Hi

You would require our Samsung KIES software downloaded and installed on your computer to transfer files to and from the device.

Please download and install the latest version of the software from the link below.

It will come with all the necessary drivers for the computer to communicate successfully with your device, as well as providing software updates for your device when they become available.

Click the blue download button on the left on the screen and then select “Run”.

Once downloaded and installed make sure you have turned off Bluetooth and USB debugging on your device (Settings, Applications, Development), also make sure the device is unlocked and on the home screen.

Then connect your device to the computer via a USB data cable and launch the KIES software. After a short time KIES should then recognise and display the device.

You can view a useful video tutorial about the various features of the KIES software, including how to back up your important files and update the software on your device, by visiting the link below:

Wifi wont turn on & cant update

Hi i have a samsung galaxy s4 and the wifi will not turn on!
I have factory restored my phone and it tells me i need an update but cos i cant get on wifi it wont allow it - then i have tried to update via kies but it tells my hardware isnt supported. please help

3x4 Keyboard dropped??

Hi...

I have just downloaded the new 4.3 software but I can't see where I can change the qwerty keyboard to use as the 3x4 keyboard. Has this option in the portrait keyboard type setting been taken away as I prefer the 3x4 keyboard? If so why? because many use this and is much easier to use. Will there be any plans to bring it back as I don't think I will be buying the next Samsung Galaxy if this feature is not on there?

Also anyone having problems connecting to kies3 with the phone with the new 4.3 software?

You may need to send your contacts to your hands free kit.

You can do this by; opening contacts > menu > import/export > share via > Bluetooth > selecting your hands free kit.

Question

My s4 keeps freezing, how can I fix it

Sometimes while I'm writing a text or looking online it will freeze for a couple seconds. If it's happens once it will happen repeatedly. An error message flashes 'unfortunately google play store has stopped' but I'm not using playstore at the time, haven't downloaded apps since I got the phone a month ago. It's set to auto update so I don't know what version I'm on. Also, sometimes the phone gets really hot. It's taken me ten mins to write a two line text, it's very frustrating!

It sounds like your contacts are saved to your SIM card. In order to save another number to the same contact they need to be saved to your phone memory.

Battery's first charge

I've just purchased my new Galaxy S4. I inserted the battery and plugged it in to charge and straight away it says 100% charged. The sales rep told me to charge it for 24 hours before I use it for the first time. Is this really necessary? or is it ready to use?

Faulty Battery

I only bought my Samsung Galaxy S4 in October 2013, the phone keeps restarting and the battery looks swollen. From the reviews I have read it appears to be a known fault which is caused by the battery. I have been advised I can get a free replacement battery

You can bring your phone and battery to a local service centre to be inspected by an engineer. If they confirm that it is a swollen battery issue, you will be offered a free of charge replacement battery.
