Hi Anonymous,

You can check the list of default languages on your S4 by going to Settings>My Device>Language and Input. If you are unable to find the language you would like to use there may be third party applications which you can download from the Playstore.

Question

Camera occasionally restarts/reboots handset

Not every time, but often when I use the camera on the handset, or an app that uses the camera, the handset restarts/reboots. Really annoying.
I've been told to make sure the handset's software is up to date (which it is). It seems other users have experienced the same issue as there are several online articles about the issue.

Question

Cannot hear music with headphones plugged in.

I can no longer hear music with headphones plugged in, I have tried four different sets including the set bought with the phone. I can hear all other boops and beeps as I select different options on the phone, just not music. If I take the headphones out I can hear my music play from the phones speaker.

Have not received software update uk

Hi, I have a s4 i9505 unbranded and unlocked to all networks purchased from phones4u. However I have
not received a update at all. The new update has been
announced in the uk and allows some apps to be
moved to sd. I have tried ova and via kies on windows but it says I have latest update. I know I do not because I am missing the new things that appear In new update and plus my build number is different. I received this phone on 5th august. Also my kernel version says fri april 26.

Hi

Firstly I would advise to go to Settings>More>Storage and check how much space you have available on your Galaxy S4. If stoarge is low you have the option to delete unused apps to free up some memory. Another option is to connect your S4 to your PC or laptop and drag and drop the DCIM folder to your desktop, you can delete or store your photos from here.

Removing password from lock screen

I set my phone up for the password option but to be honest it's annoying and I'd rather switch to pattern. But when I go in, and enter my password, it won't give me any options other than changing the password to something else. Please help.

Hi Adrian,

To change the lock screen from a password to a pattern lock, please follow the steps outlined below;

Go to Settings > My device > Lock screen > Screen lock > Input your password >Choose 'Pattern' > Set a pattern > Confirm > Set backup PIN (if you forget your pattern you can then use the PIN to unlock the screen).

Hi Anonymous,

When you are looking at your logs if you tap left of the home button you get the option for view by, select all calls and this will only display your call logs, if you back out of this and go back in it will still show the call logs.

every time i transfer files from my pc to my 64GB samsung sd card my S4 deletes these files WHY ??

I have a 64GB HC class 10 Samsung SD card and I am running android 4,2.2 and my kernel version is 3.4.0-768421
I have read online and a lot of people have this problem is this a software issue if so when are you going to release a patch / update to fix this

Email Sync Problems with S4

My S4 won't Sync my emails - it is saying Master sync disabled. I have gone into settings at Sync emails and tried ticking and un-ticking the box but with the same result.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Hi

Please go to settings>accounts. Select the account and remove account. Then add your account again by entering your email address and password. Select your account again and you have the option to Sync All.

How do I stop the screen timing out when S4 is docked and charging in my car?

When I plug my S4 into my car dock and its charging via USA I dont want the screen to time out. mo S2 worked fine like this but I cant seem to find any setting which enables this or a Car Dock mode etc.

Question

Latest Firmware update (28th Aug 2013) wont install due to memory requirements.

The latest firmware update "PDA:MGA / PHONE:MGA / CSC:MH1 (BTU)" will not install on my device. When i check install the message: "Unable to install software update (1.22MB). Not enough space in device storage or SD card. Delete some items."
This doesn't make sense as on the device i have 535MB of space and on my SD card i have 27.17Gb. I tried deleting some apps and this didn't help.

I also tried downloading the firmware through Kies, but it freezes and forces me to cancel the process due to extended inactivity.

Hi,

Please backup your phone using Samsung KIES. Perform a factory reset by pressing Menu > settings > Accounts > Backup and reset > Factory data reset . When this is completed please connect your phone to Samsung KIES and restore your phone.

How do you increase the answer time for a call before it automatically goes to Voicemail?

When receiving an incoming call I am not always next to my S4 so I would like to be able to reach my phone, view who is calling, then decide if I want to take the call, but currently the S4 goes to voicemail after about 5 seconds from the start of an incoming call. I would like to increase the time available before it does that. How do I do that?

Question

Windows was unable to install your CDC Abstract Control Model (ACM) - why?

When I plug in my Galaxy S4 it says new device software required and tries to update it and fails and comes up with the above message saying please put the cd that came with the device into your computer. I didn't get a cd so how to get over this?
