Question

Why does my S4 keep dropping out from different Wi-Fi routers with the message - disconnected because the internet connection is slow.

Happens on D Link router at home with speeds in excess of 8GB and on profession ICT setup.

I really don't care if the connection is slow...8 isn't...just let me remain connected. Thanks

Hi,

Can you try resetting the phone by going to Settings > Account > Back up and reset.

Prior to resetting, please ensure you have back up all your data via Samsung Kies - which can be downloaded from here; http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/usefulsoftware/KIES/JSP

This should resolve the issue for you.

Hi,

It is not possible to create folders within the Messaging application on the S4. This is a limitation of the Android operating system.

Hi,

The only way to display the time when the screen is idle is to touch the Home button to enable to screen to wake up and to display the current time.

you will only see 8gb as the rest is taking up with the os and apps pre installed.

settings>storage will give you an overview of memory

settings>more>application manager will show you how much device memory/sd card is free using the tabs along the top

My s4 is not showing LTE networks option? only three options are available they are: GSM/WCDMA auto connect ,WCDMA,GSM.

Pl tell me how to fix this issue. I want to connect to LTE networks. do I need to flash the ROM? please provide the relevant updated ROM.

Can you try updating your S$ by connecting the device via Samsung Kies or - if your network provider allows- via Settings > More > About device > Software update.

Hi,

To add multiple numbers to one contact, go to Contacts > Choose contact > Tap 'Edit' (the pencil icon at the top right) > Press the green 'Plus' (+) sign > Choose title and add number > Save.

WIFI connection

Over the last couple of days my WIFI has been starting to play up by dropping connection even tho the widget shows a full connection this is very annoying because I then have to browse using my data network connection which starts costing money or have to reboot the phone, there are also a couple of sites that do not display but if I load them directly with data connection they load...has anyone else had this problem and if so do you have a fix as I have tried everything to try and sort this out

Why can't I swipe down my notification panel and why does my texting seem slower and less precise?

Randomly my s4 hasn't let me swipe down my notification panel and also my texting seems slower and seems like it needs re-calibrating. I have restarted my phone several times as well as battery pulling it and turning it off and on- no change. Checked for software updates and everything. I really don't want to send it away because this shouldn't be happening, I have had it since its come out and it hasn't a mark on it. One thing I will say is that it will still let me swipe down the panel in landscape???

I would firstly try to put your handset in safe mode to see if it is caused by a third party application. To put your S4 into safe mode restart and when you get to the Samsung logo press and hold the volume down button. If the issue is resolved it is an issue with a third party application. If not please contact our customer care team on 03307267864 for further troubleshooting.

Password Help

Just got the S4 and all phone calls are barred. Went into settings to change this and it asks for the password, which I assume is numbers as that's the keypad that shows up to use.
I have no idea what the password is or how to set one as I was not asked to set one when I first switched it on. Any ideas how I can get a password?

why does 1step back always taking all the way back in facebook, youtube, and all the browsing apps?

When I m in the middle of something and I just want to go one step back, the samsung s4 android is taking me from the begining of what I was doing. I.e. when I m in the middle of the news feed page in facebook I looked a photo of my frnd and I just want to go back where I was but it will take me all the way back to the begining of facebook. Same as youtube. I scrolled down check a video and wanna go one step back where I was but it will take me to the begining of youtube page. I think samsung never thought that this wastes our time and makes it inconvenient to use.

When your handset changes from 3g to 4g it will show the symbol for this in the top black line of your handset.

You can check the list of default languages on your S4 by going to Settings>My Device>Language and Input. If you are unable to find the language you would like to use there may be third party applications which you can download from the Playstore.

Camera occasionally restarts/reboots handset

Not every time, but often when I use the camera on the handset, or an app that uses the camera, the handset restarts/reboots. Really annoying.
I've been told to make sure the handset's software is up to date (which it is). It seems other users have experienced the same issue as there are several online articles about the issue.

Question

Cannot hear music with headphones plugged in.

I can no longer hear music with headphones plugged in, I have tried four different sets including the set bought with the phone. I can hear all other boops and beeps as I select different options on the phone, just not music. If I take the headphones out I can hear my music play from the phones speaker.

Removing password from lock screen

I set my phone up for the password option but to be honest it's annoying and I'd rather switch to pattern. But when I go in, and enter my password, it won't give me any options other than changing the password to something else. Please help.

Hi Adrian,

To change the lock screen from a password to a pattern lock, please follow the steps outlined below;

Go to Settings > My device > Lock screen > Screen lock > Input your password >Choose 'Pattern' > Set a pattern > Confirm > Set backup PIN (if you forget your pattern you can then use the PIN to unlock the screen).
