You can do a full back up of your S3 by using our Samsung KIES software.
I have provided you with useful links to download this software.

Please use Internet Explorer to install KIES. Click the download button and then select “Run”.

Hi breithhhhh,

Try your handset in safe mode when charging to see if you have the same issue. To put your S3 in safe mode restart and when it comes to the S3 logo hold the volume down button, if it operates as normal this is caused by a third party app and you should delete these. To take your handset out of safe mode just restart as normal.

Hi Maria,

We would advise that you take both the handset and charger back to the retailer (if purchased within the past 28 days). The retailer should attempt to charge the phone via an alternative charger to establish whether the issue lies with the charger or the phone itself.

If the phone was purchased over 28 days then you will need to contact our Galaxy Support team on 0330 7267864.

Hi Jennifer,

Please note we do not lock any of our devices to any particular network. Some service providers may lock handsets to their own network, in order to ensure continued usage with them during the length of a user contract for example, which means only the service provider will have any unlock code for the handset.

As we do not lock our devices to any network, we are unable to advise as to why it may take 40 days for the device to be unlocked.

If you purchase an Allshare Cast Dongle you can play videos directly onto your television. Depending on your televisions capability you can also use Allshare Play.

Your S3 can have external memory of up to 64GB. We cannot guarantee compatibility with third party manufacturers.

galaxy s3 wont start after system update

my galaxy s3 had a system update which I installed at which point it rebooted my phone. it did all the usual bits until it went to turn on again. now it wont go past the Samsung screen and keeps repeating it over and over.

Samsung S3 Lte Update

I got the s3 Lte to have the latest upto date samsung at the time and havent seen one real update other than to delete or change apps. i feel that since October a real update should be available. my partner had a google phone which recieves google updates every few months and actually updatwe the phone wuith new features not app updates

Question

MP3 and OGG files both have stuttering audio

I've noticed that whether playing through the default music player or other apps, the music stutters. I've tried shutting down and uninstalling apps which might be interfering with audio, turned off wifi, bluetooth, mobile data, even switched it into aeroplane mode, but absolutely nothing makes a difference.

Hi Tinsley Alec,

We can only recommend if you are using a PC to perform this with Samsung KIES. Any other method of doing software update besides OTA may be treated as tampering with the device and void the warranty.

This will be dependant on how you backed it up. If you used Samsung KIES to back up you would plug your handset into KIES and select restore.

Question

Can't make phone calls using the normal phone keypad?

Whenever I try calling someone using the phone keypad, after selecting the number or pressing new number and later pressing the dial key, it never connects so I dial the same on viber and then call through that instead of using the phone keypad. Any help?

Hi Sarah,

The default applications on the lock screen on the SIII are as follows; 'Phone', 'Messaging', 'Google Search', 'Internet' and 'Camera'. Please note, that these short cuts are only available if the Lock screen is set to 'Swipe'.

To change the short applications on the Lock screen go to Settings > Lock screen >Lock screen options > Shortcuts. You can delete short cuts by pressing and dragging an application to the 'Bin' at the bottom of the screen. You can add application by pressing the plus sign (+) to the right of the screen.

There maybe third party applications available from the Google Play Store that may allow voice calls to be made via a 3G or WiFi internet connection.
