My phones screen is broken and i want to back it up before sending it away on kies but i need a password to access the phone

kies wants me to enter the password on the connected device but my phones screen doesnt work so i cant can anybody help me please as i have lots of contacts, photos and music

Problem with WIFI

Hello, I can't use the WIFI if my phone hasn't got network signal.
At work, we have a very low network signal, but we have WIFI. I can't access to the Internet from my phone when this signal disappears, even when my phone shows a high quality WIFI signal.

What can I do?

Yes, go to Contacts > Menu (bottome right key) > Settings > Display contacts by > Choose 'Family name first'.

Hi Woodhouse,

These are Instant Google uploads. You will need to log into your Google account on PC/laptop and delete the photos in the Instant upload folder. To stop these showing on your phone you will then need to go to Settings > Accounts > Google > Tap on your gmail address > Untick 'Sync Google photos

Question

Phone was freezing and resetting, now it wont connect to WiFi...

My phone was having a similar issue to others where it would lock up an freeze while I wasn't using it and the only way to rescue it was holding the power key or doing a battery pull.
I followed the advice given in another post about a 40 minute battery pull, full discharge, full charge then a factory reset. Since then, the phone has been freezing while im using it and wont connect to WiFi.

It finds the network, shows good signal, authenticates, then when it tries to find the ip address says "Network Disabled. Poor Connection." My mac is connecting fine through the same WiFi, in the same place in the house and I never had WiFi issues before the factory reset.

Here is my system information, if that helps.
Model number: GT-I9300
Android version: 4.1.2
Baseband version: I9300BUELL1
Build number: JZO54K.I9300XXELLA
and my network is Vodafone UK.

Question

Windows 8 doesn't connect via USB

When I connect the phone via, it charges. But the computer doesn't see it. I've uninstalled/reinstalled Kies and the drivers. I'm using the same cable that came with the phone. I've tried multiple ports. Everything worked fine on this machine when running Windows 7 - it's only since updating to Windows 8 I've experienced these issues. None of the drivers on the Samsung website mention Windows 8. Surely Samsung must have come up with drivers for the most recent version of Windows?

Question

Wifi Turns Off When Screen Locks

I have been using my S3 more or less since launch love it, since last software upgrade 4.1.2 I have had issue with losing wifi when screen locks. As soon as I wake phone up reconnects no problem, EE have replaced my handset twice over the last week both have same issue. I have turned wifi power saving mode of using *#0011# also made sure wifi does not sleep in advanced settings and also wifi timer is off. I am sure there is a software problem here been such a great phone EE are unable to help any further seems I know more about mobiles than them suggested I speak to you directly HELP

Hi Smith,

Please go to Settings > WiFi > Advanced > Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep > Tap 'Always'. You may also need to alter your security settings on your router

Question

How do you stop picture gallery from feezing on Galaxy s3

Virtually from day 1 (7 months ago) the gallery function on my S3 has never worked properly. I have had the odd period where everything has worked fine, but more often than not it freeze, or would open, but then force a close after opening a picture. More recently it just refuses to open anything and just returns the message "Gallery isn't responding. Do you want to close it?" I have tried updating, re-setting, just about everything mentioned in other forums, other than inserting a new SD card (currently only running 2gb card). I also cannot download the pictures to my PC, because all the files appear to be empty when I connect, so I don't want to do anything that would result in me losing another load of pictures. Does anyone have any useful guidance please?

If you have carried out a factory reset and the software running is the latest version, then you will need to contact our SIII Support Team for us to arrange an inspection/repair of the phone. You can call our team on 0330 7267864 (option 3/option 1). We will require the IMEI, serial number, date and place of purchase

Question

For a couple of weeks my S3 has been restarting itself or freezing up at random times. I have factory reset twice but it's still occuring.

I have installed the eMMC brickbug app which states I have the insane chip. My phone is running the latest version of Android available on the Three network. This is now getting ridiculous as my phone is freezing a number of times every day. Any advice would be appreciated.

How can I access my gallery to delete photos or videos yet when I press key it says "Not enough space, delete unnecessary items such as photos, video"

Question

Loudspeaker turning itself off

When I use the loudspeaker option during calls (phone, skype calls or hangouts) the speaker stops working and reverts to the earphone after a minute or so. Normally I hit the speaker option and the loudspeaker turns on again. This repeats almost after every minute during a phone call.

My samsung S3 would start

I have a samsung s3, One day I woke up and it was constantly booting. The screen would come to the initial samsung screen and reboot. I believe this is called boot loop? I tried going into recovery mode and selected the option wipe cache partition and also wipe data/factory settings option and rebooted it. Its still not working. Can any one please help me out. I have done anything fancy with my phone, Rooting etc. It had the latest firmware installed. Please help me out, Thanks

Question

How do I change the text messages settings so that received messages show the time the text was sent?

At the moment the text messages show the time they were received. As I can often have my phone switched off for a few days at a time I would like to change the settings so that they show the time the text messages were sent to me, that way I can see if they are still relevant etc.

I've checked the settings on the phone, the manual and on line but cannot seem to find an answer. I'm guessing I'm stuck with the settings as they are but am hopeful they can be changed

To save information on to your external sd card go to Apps>My Files>SDcard0>Select the folder you want to move>Tap move which will be at the top right hand side of the screen>Select EXTsdcard and then hit move.

Adding music

This may be a daft question but when I plug my S3 into my computer it bring up the GT-I9300 to which I am unable to go into to add music. When I first got my phone I plugged it in and could just then drag my music into the music folder but I am now unable to. Is this just a setting I am unaware of or an alteration I need to make somewhere? Thanks

Question

My Galaxy S3 won't turn on!

My S3 froze when I was using it, so I took the battery out as it wouldn't turn off using the power button, put the battery back into the phone and then tried to turn the phone on again. When I did this it just came up with the Samsung logo and did nothing else. I was able to turn it off, which I then tried to turn it back on again, but it kept doing the same thing as before. It has nothing to do with the SIM or memory card as I took both of them out and then tried to reboot the phone. Nothing happened. I also left the battery out the phone for a short amount of time and then tried to restart the system again, but again this didn't work.
Can anyone help in anyway??
