I can not hear the caller in a call

Hi there,
I'm facing this problem when I call someone or when I answer a call: I can not hear anything! I can not hear the person on the other end but he/she can hear me.
But when I switch to speaker, I can hear the other end.
How can I fix this problem.

Have you tried connecting a set of headphones into the headphone socket? Do you hear the caller them. If so I suspect its the same problem that my S2 has. There is some kind of switch or sensor in the socket that appears to become stuck. The phone thinks there is a headphone connected when there isn't. Try pushing in and out a headphone jack into the socket a few times, to see if it can unstick the sensor. It works for me.

Question

Why does my wifi keep sticking?

I have a GT-l9100P from O2, ever since I last upgraded the software to andriod version 4.0.3 I have had problems switching on the wifi setting. At least once a day, no matter how I try to turn it on it freezes. I then end up using my own network which is using up my monthly amount in no time! The only way to get it back on is to restart the phone, but I have to do this at least once a day (some times more)!

I have exactly the same problem, It's so annoying, this coupled with the lack of help to sort it out now means I'm thinking about looking at a different make of phone when my contract expires soon! I was told that the ICS update will stop the problem but as there STILL is no update available, (I think that have abandoned the SII now the S4 is due for release!!!) I can't see it being sorted.

Question

I cannot update my Samsung Galaxy S2 at all.

I've tried repeatedly to update my Samsung Galaxy S2. A few times over a period of several months, I would try to update by going through Settings > About Phone > Software Update > Update, but each and every time I have done that I am sharply greeted by a message telling me 'Connection Failed'. Only recently have I found out about updating through Kies, but I downloaded it for my computer, plugged in my phone, it found an update and started downloading it but then every time I do this Kies will either just disappear without actually updating or will crash. So will someone help me in finding a way to update it?

Hi,

If you are unable to update via Kies or over the air, you can bring the device - with your proof of purchase - to a local Samsung Service Centre who will help install any update that is available. You can find your nearest Service Centre by following the link below;

Question

How do I change the default video player setting from the online player to the normal video player?

I have just updated the software of the phone to 4.1.2 and when I tried watching a video from my gallery, it gave me the option to watch it using the online player or the using the video player and I accidentally made it so that videos will always be played using the online player. I don't want this and I don't know how to change it back. I also don't want to keep going into the video player app to play videos. Someone please help... Thanks

Question

Software upgrade to Galaxy S2 now constantly get this message "unfortunately, the process android.process.media has stopped"

I can't get access to the gallery, the camera won't load up, and almost every app I try to use results in the following error message "unfortunately, the process android.process.media has stopped". I've tried clearing caches as advised on other forums, I've re-booted several times, but I'm a bit scared to do the factory re-set in case I lose photos. I think I've got them all on the extra memory card I put in, should I remove that before doing the factory re-set? Have others had this problem after the update? I'm well annoyed, as have never had a problem with this phone before yesterday. I'm not a techie, so most of the advice on other forums is incomprehensible. Is there somewhere I can phone for advice that won't cost me a fortune? Thanks.

Hi,

Following a major software update which your SII has undertaken, we always recommend a factory data reset as old system settings may still be present. You do not have to remove your SD card from the phone though it will not be an issue if you choose to do so. To reset, go to Settings > Back up and reset > Factory data reset.

We would recommend that you back up your data via Samsung Kies prior to resetting. Samsung Kies can be downloaded from here; http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/usefulsoftware/KIES/JSP

Alternatively, you can contact our Galaxy Support team on 0330 7267864 (option 1) for further advice and assistance.
