Hi Kamran, the battery life can vary depending on what it is being used for. You can turn off certain features to extend the battery life such as screen timeout setting, display brightness, wi-fi etc. For further instructions you can give our mobile team a call on 0330 72 67 864 (option 3) who will be more than happy to assist you further.

the only place it will not work on 3G that I know of is T-mobile in the USA. T-Mobile uses the only frequency that the phone does not support. However, the phone fully works on AT&T's 3G (HSPA+) network in the USA.

Question

When making a phone call people on the other end can't hear very well or say it is muffled. Why is this?

When making a phone call people on the other end can't hear very well or say the call is muffled. Why is this and how can it be solved? I've only had the phone about a week and every time I call someone everyone says the same thing that the call is muffled and they can't hear me properly (I don't get this problem with my old phone - a different make).

I have the same issue with a Samsung case fitted, (it does not cover either the top or bottom mic's) However when I take the case off, the issues goes away completely.
There are two theories, 1) The microphones are not seated correctly and therefore when you put a case on the phone, it forces the sound around the inside of the phone, causing the echo for the person on the other end.
2) It is a faulty UI board GH59-10949A which requires replacing.

I had the same problem. Turned out to be caused by the way i held the phone to my ear, my hand cupped the phone and covered the tiny hole on bottom for the microphone. Now im aware of it i dont have that problem now.

Generally this issue would be caused by a case or other object obstructing or blocking the microphone at the base of the device. If this is not what is causing your issue you can do the following, while in a call go to Tools and select Noise reduction.

Better still, save the photos to the External SD-Memory Card by default:
1) Launch the Camera App.
2) Select the Settings icon (i.e. the Cog icon top-left).
3) Scroll down to the bottom of all the options.
4) Select "Storage" (2nd from the bottom, just above "Reset").
5) Select "Memory Card".

All new photos should now be stored on the Memory Card :O)

Question

How can I get wi-fi working again?

I did a system update on my Galaxy S2 and other than it getting rid of my personalised home screens and giving me several new games that I didn't want, it made me unable to connect to my wi-fi connection. I had no problem before the update but now the status ranges from "obtaining IP address" to "authenticating" and then sometimes saying "avoided poor connection", yet it works fine on my laptop. I can also connect with no problems at work and at other people's houses, just not at home. I want to be able to manually add my connection information such as IP address, DNS and Gateway, etc, but I can't find a way to do this.
Also, when trying to play the "Draw Something" game, if connected to 3G then it works fine, but as soon as I try to connect to wi-fi and then enter the game, it just closes itself and refuses to work. I then have to remove and re-download the game.
Please help!

Sorry to hear that you are having issues connecting to your home wifi with this device. We would suggest that you back up all data and perform a reset on the device, which will hopefully resolve this issue. Settings>Privacy>Factory data reset.

Question

Samsung Galaxy Sii battery life

Hi,

Since I put the new android update on to my Galaxy Sii a few weeks ago, I am barely getting half a day out of my phone (and that's not using it). Auto-sync not on, widgets removed from screen, have system save enabled, I've checked applications running and nothing out of ordinary, I don't charge battery unless it has been fully discharged. Any ideas as to why this has suddenly started to happen in recent weeks?
It is seriously turning me off using Samsung and I am considering going over to the other side and getting an iPhone.

there is an app on the google play store called battey doctor,

with that you can set uo schedules like flight mode from 23.00 pm to 08.00am for example. theres also a function where it can disable wifi if it is inactive for 10 mins or signal strength is less than 10%.

there are many other functions too, ive been using it for a while and it tells you how much battery time you've saved with certain actions
