Ive done a factory reset on my SII and now its connecting to Wi-Fi perfect but not allowing me to enter the google store, internet or emails.

It does this beofre I reset the phone as well.

Question

Help to return phone to normal functions.

I have inadvertently locked the screen of my Samsung Galaxy S2.
I have also inadvertently operated the Talk Back facility, and now I am unable to unblock and return the phone to normal operation. Can you please help?

Hi Peter.

You will have to perform a reset on the device if you are stuck on the lock screen. To do this, turn the device off, take the battery out, leave for a couple of minutes, put the battery back in then hold the power, menu, volume up keys all at the same time. This will reset the device.

why do the 3 s2s in my house have problems with wifi not in range all the time?

Among the devices in my household, 3 are samsung galaxy s2s...
Why is it other devices connect with no problem to our wifi but the s2s are getting the wifi not in range message pretty much constantly now...
My phone has been doing this nearly everyday since doing an update weeks ago... Some days it says wifi not in range ALL day... I have checked with virgin media (my service provider) and they say as all the other devices are connected its not a virgin problem and that it has something to do with the product... I have an autistic son with one of these phones and its a constant nightmare nowadays... he has lost his temper so many times with it and me for not being able to fix it its ridiculous :-( xx iv done factory resets and reboots so many times :( its always the s2s xx

Hi,

I would advise that you check your GPS settings. To do this;
1: From the home screen tap apps
2: Tap settings
3: Tap the more tab at the top
4: Tap locations services
5:Tap Access to my location turning the switch green
Also check that the WIFi and mobile network location setting has a green tick next to it. Hope this helps.

Hi Margaret,

With the latest Android update, you will be able to move applications to the device memory card, Some applications cannot be moved to an SD card. For such apps the Move to SD card option will be unavailable. Follow the steps below to do so.
1. From the home screen tap Apps
2. Tap Settings.
3. Tap More from the tabs at the top.
4. Tap Storage.
5. Tap Apps.
6. Tap on the App you wish to move to the Memory card.
7. Tap Move to SD card.

Hi Rosa,
Yes this can be done however, not all aplications can be transferred.
1: From the home screen tap apps
2: Tap settings
3: Tap aplication manager
4: Tap on the app you would like to transfer
5: If the app will allow your transfer it to the SD card, it will have an option to do so.

Hi,
1. From the Home screen tap Contacts.
2. Press the menu button (bottom left button on the device).
3. Tap Import/Export.
4. Tap Import from SIM card.
5. Tap OK

Question

I cant upgrade software on my Galaxy S II

I have an SII. When I try an OTA update it fails because and says server cannot be reached. Ive tried connecting via Kies, but although the PC recognises the phone and the model number comes up and it tries to connect, the connection never succeeds. Any ideas?

Hi Nancy,

Have you backed up your device to anything like Kies, SD card or dropbox? If you have a Google account, sometimes pictures are synced with that. If your device is not backed up to anything, then I'm afraid they can't be retrieved.

Different S2 model?

First of all, I did not buy this phone, I got it as a gift and it has been with me for 1.5 year anyway skipping to the point

My niece bricked the place where I can put my SIM card and since then here what happens : SERIOUS over heating when charging and/or playing games (doesnt have to be 3d just plain 2d) and the battary drains 2 times faster and the most annoying thing so far : my Application space gets full for no reason I think its the logcat is the reason because there is no SIM I dont know and when I went to fix it they said they cant fix it because it has a "very weird design, you sure this is original Samsung s2 and not just a Chinese copy?" I say yes
so what do I do now? help...please (and by the way because the...non-famous design I cant get a battery for it)

Hi how can I set my samsung phone to send and receive text but not use phone for calling.

Hi I have an unlimited international text plan but whenever I travel I do not have any phone use without paying roaming fees. I was told by my phone company that I would be able to turn off the mobile features and still be able to text. I can't seem to fine it in my samsung phone settings. I know about wifi but thought they were talking about something else. Thanks.
