Question

My flash stops working after updating my firmware to 1.43.

I just bought my NX300 in UAE and updated my firmware to 1.43 and then after the update, the flash is not working anymore. The flash icon on screen turns red when I try to take pictures. What could be the problem?

The serial number of the camera is located on the base of the unit on a white sticker. The serial number of the lens is etched into its body near the mounting end.

When using the M, Manual mode you are in specific control of the shutter speed, aperture and ISO or exposure of the photograph. In this mode, features which control one of these elements, such as Exposure Compensation are not available. This would only be available in Program, Aperture and Shutter modes.

Make sure that the date and time are set through the 'Settings' menu. Press the DISP button and toggle through the various display types until the date and time appear in the top side of the LCD.

anyone hear abnormal focus noise when filming video?

anyone else suffering from abnormal focus noise when capturing video using 20-50mm lens? i have noticed this when i captured a video shortly after i got the camera, however i just ignored it till now. the sound is different from the normal sound you can normally hear whilst zooming, if turn the audio volume up when watching the captured video, will hear a "clak-clak-clak" noises. (noticed this also in a demo nx300 camera in samsung stand, hence i reckon someone else might suffer from this)

The NX300 camera is available with either a 45mm 2D/3D Lens, a 20-50mm Lens Kit or a 20-50mm /50-200 mm Twin Lens Kit.

Multiple Exposure Mode

Hi again, I was wondering whether there is a possibility to implement a multiple exposure mode. For example, to shoot two or more exposures, onto one frame. Blending both together to create amazing photos. This is the only mode I am missing on this awesome camera.

Directly under the dial changer you will find a red button. Press this once to start recording.

Why does set aperture value keep changing in A mode?

I usually prefer to shoot using aperture priority mode, but it keeps changing all the time, whether I set it using touch screen or the menu.

I cannot update firmware on NX300 Camera

I am currently running body firmware 1.20 which came loaded on my NX300 camera. I want to update to the latest version which appears to be 1.31

I successfully downloaded iLauncher on to my Mac. When I plug my camera in to the computer iLauncher recognizes the model. When I double click on Firmware Updater it tells me my camera model is not supported.

When I try to update by copying the .bin file to the SD card and go to the "Firmware Update" selection in the menu the "Body Firmware" selection is not clickable.

How do the HDR modes work

Could you please tell me exactly how the HDR mode works.
Is it a multi shot? if so in RAW or Jpeg plus does it process it in camera. Plus if so does it also save the originals?
Can you set it with any ISO aperture & shutter. Plus can you use the 8FPS mode in HDR.

Please note I use all the camera's features fully so need to now what modes work with what other modes!

Yes, this is multishot, available only in JPG. Camera makes 2 shots and automatically merge it in one jpg.

skydrive access + 20-50 lens focus noise

Has anyone else had issues with connecting NX300 to skydrive? When I approve the app access to skydrive I get the message that there is a temporary problem and service is not available, I've had this issue since I have the camera...

Also is it normal for 20-50 lens to be quite noisy when it is focusing? It seems to try quite hard to focus...any help/feedback is appreciated.

Question

Smart camera app and NX300.

Since the last update of the Smart Camera App, on Android, on the 17/06/2013 it no longer works with the NX300 and clearly many other cameras in your range. So all the Wifi control and transfer abilities of this camera are not working. If you look at the reviews of the app since the last update you will see the many complaints from many people that the app is broken. The Wifi transfer functionality was the big selling point for me but now I am back to manually having to connect it to a computer. Tried deleting and reinstalling the app and upgrading to the latest camera firmware but still will not work. The app finds the camera with no problem but will not progress any further. You would see if you read the app reviews that this affecting Galaxy S4, Nexus 10 and Nexus 4 owners. Please fix or I will return my camera.

NX300, Remote Viewfinder and T2 lens mount - "Check the lens" error

I've connected my NX300 to my telescope with a T2 lens mount. It works well but when I try to use this with the remote viewfinder function (remote shutter is great for keeping the telescope steady), the camera refuses to start the function and generates a "Check the lens" error. Can this lens check be disabled as I can't see a good reason why the viewfinder function needs to depend on the lens?
